The best ice cream in town
Block 1912 Cafe
If exposed brick walls, live music, edison bulbs, great coffee and tea, sandwiches and salads and incredible gelato sound good to you, Block 1912 is the spot to head to this summer. Take a break from summer’s heat and pay them a visit for a scoop or two of their rich and silky gelato.
Marble Slab Creamery is a big chain with several locations across Edmonton and throughout Canada. While the charm of a hole in the wall can often trump the appeal of a big business, Marble Slab might make you question that leaning. Serving ice cream that’s mixed and chilled with your choice of mixins right before your eyes, this place has a distinctly handmade feel for such a big operation. They are known for their marble mixed ice cream, but they also serve a variety of special treats like milkshakes, splits, sundaes, low-fat smoothies, ice cream cupcakes, pies and sandwiches and more.
Yelo’d Ice Cream
Yelo’d Ice Cream and Bake Shop is a Filipino ice cream shop in Edmonton. They've dreamed up incredible soft serve flavours inspired by the Philippines -- think Ube, Buko, Mangga, Pinya, Milo, Matcha, Tang, Saging, Pakwan and more. Instead of giving it all away, they rotate their flavours every two weeks so you’ll never get bored. They also bake! They sell many colourful and unique cakes, cookies, ensaymadas, yelo buns (doughnuts), leche flan and more. We love them for their soft serve which can be enjoyed in cups or cones or in an affogato (soft serve plus locally-roasted espresso and condensed milk) or a Champorado (soft serve plus warm semi-sweet chocolate rice pudding with condensed milk).
Our team hopes you get the chance to dine at one, or maybe all, of these amazing Edmonton ice cream shops this summer.
