Plan a magical September vacation in Canada

Canada is a vast and beautiful country. Because the month falls at the start of the off season, right after summer holidays and before fall temperatures hit, planning a vacation in September often means you can enjoy fewer crowds, lower prices on flights and accommodations, and good weather. The Vertica Resident Services blog team wants to share some tips for planning a great Canadian vacation this September.

Tofino, Vancouver Island, British Columbia

Watching the sunset from the beach at one of the most western points on the continent is incredible. It’s the perfect time to hike through the lush greenery of the Rainforest Trail and explore Pacific Rim National Park. You’ll have the beaches almost all to yourself, too -- except from September 28th to 30th when Tofino hosts the Queen of the Peak women’s surfing championship.

Charlottetown, PEI

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island is packed with beautiful historic buildings, delicious food and friendly locals. It’s not packed with tourists if you visit in September. Seafood lovers, get your bibs on! The International Shellfish Festival runs from September 13th to 16th!

Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario

Algonquin Provincial Park is home to some of the best camping anywhere. September is still comfortable camping weather, the crowds are gone, and it’s the perfect spot to see the leaves change and experience a Group of Seven painting come vividly to life!

Saguenay Fjord, Quebec

Saguenay-St-Lawrence Marine Park is a beautiful 3-hour drive east of Quebec City. This magical spot, where the Saguenay River meets the St. Lawrence, is home to stunning scenery, especially in late September when the leaves are changing. It’s also home to some of the best whale watching in the world. See resident Belugas, and enjoy seasonal visits from Minkes, Humpbacks and more -- including the occasional Blue Whale and Orca.

Whitehorse, Yukon

The short-lived season of fall is in full swing in the Yukon. The tundra transforms into orange, yellow and red. See some of the best wildlife and most beautiful landscape in the world. You'll be just in time to catch the beginning of Northern Lights season!
