March break Montreal style
Kick off your March Break as the Montréal en lumière festival comes to its climactic conclusion. You can take in the lights, games and overnight celebration of Nuit Blanche, beginning at 2 pm on March 2nd and running until 3 am on March 3rd. If you need to warm up your artistic spirit, Art Souterrain takes over the underground city from March 2nd to 24th.
Snowshoe on Mount Royal
Step into the winter wonderland of Mount Royal with a guided snowshoe walk through the snow-covered forest and explore its history as well. Choose from night walks or morning walks that depart from Beaver Lake Pavilion. The night walks happen Fridays and Saturdays at 6 pm. The cost is $22 for adults or $17 for 12 to 15 year olds. The daytime walks are for ages 8 and up. They begin at 10:30 am all through March Break (March 2nd to 10th) and snowshoe rental and hot chocolate is included. Register at lemontroyal.qc.ca.
The Sweet Life
Spend some time this March Break soaking up the sweetness of the season at Pointe-à-Callière (350 Place Royale). From March 2nd to 8th, from 10 am to 4 pm, you can enjoy the flavour of a traditional Québec sugar shack as well as games, a lumberjack challenge and stories by the bonfire. Warm up indoors with family-friendly La Petite Vie activities. There will be free coffee, lattés, and hot chocolate, too!
