This world-renowned comedy festival attracts the biggest names in the business to Montréal every summer and has helped to launch the careers of some of the most promising young comics. Juste pour rire (Just for Laughs) festival was founded in 1983 by Gilbert Rozon. It was originally a two-day French language event. Andy Nulman joined the staff in 1985 and increased the festival to a month-long event with French-speaking performers during the first two weeks and English for the second two weeks. Today, the Festival has grown into the largest international comedy festival in the world.

Named one of the 25 Funniest People in America by Entertainment Weekly, Wanda Sykes hosts a lineup of comedians to crack you up on July 26th at 7 pm at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier. Get your tickets today!
The mother of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Margaret Trudeau, will bring her critically-lauded, one-woman show to this year’s Festival for a three-night run, on Thursday, July 25th, Friday, July 26th and Saturday, July 27th. This show is still in development and is a work in progress.
Former Daily Show correspondent and star of Patriot Act with Hasan Minaj hosts an all-star lineup of performers at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier.
